When you create an account we collect your email address and basic profile information (name, avatar) from your sign-in provider (Google or GitHub). When you set up a profile, you may optionally provide a display name, username, bio, and social links. When you list or purchase tools, we collect the information you provide in those forms. When you post in communities or comment, that content is stored and associated with your account.
Your username, display name, avatar, bio, tool listings, community posts, and comments are publicly visible to anyone who visits Ship It Forge. Your email address is never publicly displayed. If you choose to keep your profile private (via Discovery settings), your profile will not appear in search results, but your posts and comments in communities remain visible.
We use your information to operate Ship It Forge — to authenticate you, process payments via Stripe, display your public profile, send transactional emails related to your account and purchases, and deliver in-app notifications for activity relevant to you (comments, votes, follows). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs all payment data. We retain records of completed transactions (amount, tool purchased, date) for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
We store notifications related to your account activity (comments on your posts, votes, follows, replies). You can clear your notification history at any time from your profile. You can manage push notification preferences in Settings.
We use browser localStorage and session cookies solely to maintain your login session and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and optionally Google and GitHub (sign-in). Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We do not share your personal data with these providers beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing admin@shipitforge.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Note that content you posted in public communities (posts, comments) may remain in an anonymised form after account deletion.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact admin@shipitforge.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via an in-app notification. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
